1989 Charvel by Jackson Champagne Pink, Japan

$999.00

Up for sale, a 1989 Charvel by Jackson Model HSH electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, the Model HSH is rarely seen with a rosewood fretboard, let alone gloss Champagne Pink finish. Built for shred, this guitar features a quartersawn rock maple neck, a thick slab rosewood fingerboard, and a basswood body. The pickup complement includes J-80C humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, and an alnico J-100S single coil in the middle. The five-way blade pickup selector switch offers a variety of voicing options via the HSH configuration, yielding articulate single coil cut and thick, ripping drive. This Jackson weighs 8lbs 5oz.

The quatersawn rock maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling D-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .745” deep at the 1st fret and .865” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 12-16” compound radius, abalone dot inlay, and pristine original jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays well in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2“, and the graphite nut measures 1 5/8" in width. Just behind the nut, the locking system ensures ideal stability against the most dynamic of dives with the Jackson-branded Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo. On the black headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a five-way blade pickup selector, Master Volume, and Master Tone for the HSH configuration. The black hardware and pickup surrounds are quite clean, while the pickup bobbins show some pick wear into the plastic, with a small split in the plastic on the bridge pickup bobbin that does not affect the pickup's function. The gloss Champagne Pink finish is 100% original and very clean, with cosmetic wear limited to some small marks localized on the lower bout body edge and a few faint scattered marks on the top and back of the body. The neck profile sports the original gloss finish, cloudy in appearance, yet pristine and smooth to the touch along the profile length.

Will ship in some sort of gig bag.
